About Eric Pacheco, Master Pilot and Founder
Eric has been operating frequency-controlled un-manned aerial vehicles (U.A.V) since 1986 and as an AMA member since January 1996. The AMA, Academy of Model Aeronautics, is a sport organization comprised of 170,000 members in the US territory. It is a non-profit organization that supports and insures leisure U.A.V aircraft use in the United States. Eric's experience began as a recreational activity in his native town of Thousand Oaks, California at the local airfield operated by a small club hosted by the Thousand Oaks Soaring Society (TOSS). He then took the next steps with another club in Thousand Oaks hosted by the Northrop Grumman Corporation in the fall of 1995. Eric began as a Level One Pilot and quickly excelled. He reached the rank of a Level Five Instructor during the first nine months with the organization. A year later, Eric began teaching professionally to meet the demands of several soliciting newcomers in both fixed wing and rotary winged un-manned aircraft. He has now been training both beginners and people who just need some help polishing their skills for nearly thirteen years.
Eric is also a factory field representative pilot for the helicopter company MRC/Hirobo and consults for companies such as Bergen R/C, Morgan fuels, and several retailers from Southern California to the United Kingdom and beyond. Eric spends much of his time serving for many of the local organization, including Safety Officer on the Board of Directors for the Channel Island Condor Organization, Director of Helicopters with the San Fernando Valley Flyers, Membership Chairmen of the Conejo Valley Flyers, and as the safety officer for the Hill Canyon club.
In 1996, Eric had his first introduction to UAV plateform based camera viewing and the rest is history. Eric soon began his on-board camera projects with both fixed wing and rotary winged un-manned frequency-controlled aircrafts to capture aerial images in both still and moving photography. Eric has experience working on several productions using these aerial cameras and vehicles for such people as CBS Studios, Jody Eldred, John O'Hurley, MTV, Ulli Lommel and the Hollywood House of Horrors, Pimp my Ride, F.W. Gary Grey, and the E! Entertainment Network.
Eric Pacheco also produces films directed toward the safe operation and use of U.A.V. fixed and rotary winged aircraft, so his experiences, successes, and practices may be pass on to the next generation of newcomers for the success and safety of all.
In his twenty two years of experience, Eric has never had an incident or injury that resulted in a claim with a person or insurance agency. Eric attributes this to his careful planning and use of equipment in such a closely guarded manner to attention to detail that he has learned from many his senior in the multiple industries in which he draws his experiences from.
Eric has built, set-up and operated the following list of machines over the years. All the experience has contributed to his success and know-how, which benefits all that work with him and have the pleasure of his personal training.
